Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

A quick and elegant dish featuring tender shrimp cooked in a flavorful garlic butter sauce, tossed with al dente pasta. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in red pepper flakes (if using) and deglaze the pan with white wine. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Add reserved pasta water and Parmesan cheese, stirring until sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in sauce. Add cooked pasta and gently mix until well combined.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For added flavor, use homemade garlic butter. This dish pairs well with a crisp white wine or a fresh green salad.
