Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta
A quick and elegant dish featuring tender shrimp cooked in a flavorful garlic butter sauce, tossed with al dente pasta. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
Method
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt remaining butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in red pepper flakes (if using) and deglaze the pan with white wine. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add reserved pasta water and Parmesan cheese, stirring until sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in sauce. Add cooked pasta and gently mix until well combined.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
For added flavor, use homemade garlic butter. This dish pairs well with a crisp white wine or a fresh green salad.
